The filing period for the 2026 City of Stillwater election has closed.

The following offices will appear on the 2026 ballot: Mayor, Council Member Ward 1, and Council Member Ward 4

How to File

To become a candidate, you must submit a completed Affidavit for Candidacy and a non-refundable $5 filing fee during the filing period.

You may file in person at Stillwater City Hall or Electronically by emailing a notarized Affidavit of Candidacy. Payment may be made by card over the phone or by mailing a check.

Candidate Qualifications

To file for office, you must:

• Be an eligible voter.
• Be at least 21 years of age upon assuming office.
• Have resided in the ward  in which they seek election and maintained residence in the Ward in the City from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the election.
• Not have filed for another office in the same election.
