The public meeting shared an update and overview of the intersection study, presented the issues that have been identified through engagement an analysis and shared visualizations and maps to show the concepts under evaluation.

Study Overview: The Washington Avenue Intersection Study will prepare planning level concept alternatives to address concerns related to operations and safety at Washington Avenue and the Frontage Road adjacent to Highway 36. The objective of this study is to evaluate existing conditions and conceptual alternatives designed to improve traffic operations and identify potential improvements for people who walk, bike or drive. The study will:

  • Develop alternatives to address existing safety concerns
  • Gather community feedback on potential improvements
  • Recommend improvements to make the road safer for people who walk, bike and drive
